This series will focus on some quotes from the book of Deuteronomy that Jesus used in his ministry.  As a matter of fact all of the Scripture quotes from his temptation in the desert were from Deuteronomy.  
 

November 30 - The greatest commandment (Deut. 6:4&5)
When asked about the greatest command, Jesus quoted these words of Moses (the famous shema passage) as his answer.  These two truths are the Christian standards that are still to guide us and connect us to the people of God – Old Testament.

December 7 - Serve Him only (Deut. 6:13)
When tempted by Satan to worship him Jesus quotes this verse.  We will learn in this teaching to serve only God.
 

December 14 - Do not test the Lord (Deut. 6:16)
When tempted by Satan to throw himself from the temple’s pinnacle, Jesus answers that God is not to be tested.  We will look at implications for us and in what ways we sometimes test God.
 

December 21 - Man does not live on bread alone (Deut. 8:3)
When tempted by Satan to turn stones into bread, Jesus tells Satan where real nourishment comes from.  We live in a culture of giving into appetites, but God calls us to spiritual nourishing by His Word.
