I'm still amazed that God has entrusted His Word to us! Can you believe it? Every Sunday we get to stand in front of a group of people (who God has also entrusted to us) and proclaim boldly the Word of the Lord. After 24 years of preaching, I still consider this a great privilege, but it is also a heavy burden. And that's why I'm hoping you'll consider attending the "Power of the Word" conference.

We hold this conference every year because we believe preaching to be of utmost importance to the Church. It is our desire to encourage the messengers God has called to preach. We hope to encourage you through the hearing of great sermons. We hope to encourage you by inspiring you through other preachers. We hope to encourage you in your sermon preparation by getting a behind-the-scenes look at how each speaker develops their message.

This year our theme is "Letting the Text Win," which is also the title of a book to be released in January of 2010. We have invited the authors, J.K. Jones and Mark Scott, to come and preach on this topic. As a part of our $20 conference cost we will give each participant a copy of this book and provide an opportunity to interact with the authors. Again, this is "preaching-geek" kind of stuff and I hope and pray it will bless your preacher's heart.

Remember this is not your typical conference. We're not selling anything. We're not pushing our church. We're just preachers, hanging out with other preachers, talking about preaching. I'd love for you to be a part of this gathering.
